This policy covers the TruthLens browser extension and its companion hardware comparison website.
What the extension accesses
TruthLens reads webpage text, the page title, and the current page URL to identify CPU and GPU models and display hardware specifications and avialable benchmark comparisons. Its bundled content script can run on matching webpages, and opening the popup requests a scan of the active tab. It does not read your browser's history database.
Local processing and storage
Hardware detection uses JavaScript and JSON databases packaged with the extension. Page content and scan results are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to TruthLens servers. The current extension does not persist scan results or browsing records; results are held in memory while its scripts run.
Sharing and use of data
TruthLens does not sell webpage data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling. The extension does not include analytics or tracking services and does not require an account.
The comparison website and external links
Visiting the companion website makes a normal web request to its hosting providerl, Vercel. Requests include technical information such as IP adress, browser, information, and requested URL. Hardware selections appear in the website URL and may be included in hosting. The Flask application does not intentionally save comparison selections in a user database.
The comparison homepage loads fonts from Google Fonts, which recieves the network information needed to serve those fonts. Following benchmark source links open third-party websites with their own privacy practices. Local page scans are not uploaded when you use the comparison website.
Your control
You can restrict the extension's site access in your browser settings, disable it, or unintsall it to stop its access to webpages. The extension has no stored scan history to delete.
